About Cleat

Built by furniture people, for furniture people.

Cleat isn't a construction tool that got repurposed for furniture dealers. It's the opposite — a punch-list and closeout app built by someone who spent a decade selling and installing office furniture, watching the same problems repeat project after project.

The story

The $40,000 punch list

I spent a decade on the dealer side of the furniture business, watching installers close out corporate fit-outs with a WhatsApp thread, 240 photos, a Google Drive folder somebody forgot to share, and a clipboard that usually ended up in the wrong truck. Every project had the same last 5% problem: the work was done, but nobody could prove it, so retention money sat on the client's desk for another six weeks.

Why not Procore

GCs have Procore. Furniture installers have WhatsApp.

Procore is a great product for general contractors tracking RFIs and concrete pours. It's priced and shaped for that world. If you're an FF&E installer or a furniture dealer, you're paying $10K+/year for features you don't use and missing the three features you actually need: pin a photo to a floorplan, assign a fix, get a client signature. Cleat is those three features. Nothing else.

“Every feature in Cleat is shaped by a real project that went sideways. No feature committees, no user research agencies — just a decade of problems I personally lived through, now fixed in one app.”

What we believe

Short list, strongly held.

Specific beats generic

Tools that speak your language beat tools you have to translate. Cleat talks panel-to-panel, not CSI divisions.

Phone-first, always

The work happens on the floor, not at a desk. Every feature ships on mobile first, desktop second.

Price like a tool, not a platform

A small installer shouldn't need a PO process to sign up. $29 on a personal Amex, start the next day.
